How to Swap Crypto Cross-Chain to KuCoin Community Chain

I have been a lover of the KuCoin ecosystem since before they even dropped their own token KCS and the KuCoin Community Chain. However as of late ever since they have been forcing KYC, but not allowing citizens of certain nationalities do confirmation. I as an American am one of the unfortunate ones who cannot confirm without a foreign passport alas. However today I come with solutions not complaints!

Using ChangeNow and Elk Finance to Bridge Cross-Chain

Fear not fellow Earthlings, we here at The DeFi Raider wanna help solve these problems. I had initially directly been able to buy KCS for coins such as LTC, but it seems that they don’t allow this anymore for whatever reason. I do have a workaround thanks to suggestions from a friend in KuSwap Telegram(Thanks Koen! :P)

ChangeNow Step #1

So initially I was once able to just go to ChangeNow and swap directly for LTC(Loading Data) into KCS on KCC, it now doesn’t allow that for some reason. I could also bridge directly to KCC using the KCC Bridge but the only option not grayed out on this at the moment seem to be Ethereum. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to pay 10 trillion dollars in gas fees. This is why I went with swapping LTC to BNB(There are probably cheaper ones, just went with a well known affordable one).

ChangeNow Step #2

Swap LTC to BNB
It will then take you to this page, and ask you to input your recipient wallet. This is where you will paste address for your BNB account from a wallet like TrustWallet or Metamask. This is important make sure you enter the correct address, however if you do have issues, ChangeNow has good customer service most times.

ChangeNow Step #3

Send LTC for BNB QR Page
Once you’ve done this, it takes you to this page, where it will give you a QR code to send the asset you’re swapping with, to receive the one you want. It should only take a few minutes at most for most faster chains. Once that is done you will shortly receive the BNB or other crypto you selected in your wallet.

ChangeNow Step #4

ChangeNow Step 4
Once this process is done you will now have the BNB in your wallet, and can swap it over to different chains like KCC using a site/protocol called Elk Finance(This is NOT financial advice, at the time of writing this I’ve successfully done a couple of swaps using this! Buy their token at your own risk, I currently hold none).

Elk Finance Step #1

Elk Finance Step 1
You then go to Elk Finance and connect your wallet you gave ChangeNow for the swap for their ELK token. Then you can take that ELK token to their bridge in the next step to bridge over to KuCoin’s Community Chain or a number of other chains as well.

Elk Finance Step #2

In the menu on the side bar(drop down on mobile) select the “ElkNet” option, and then you will get this page select “KCC” or the “TO CHAIN” option you desire, and remeber to tick the box that says swap 20 ELK for gas token on destination chain so you can do transactions once you get them there unless you already have some gas there.

Elk Finance Step #3

Elk Finance Step #3
KCS on KCC from LTC
Now that you have the ELK tokens on the KuCoin Community Chain network you can swap them over for KCS and do various things like using the various protocols on KCC such as DEXs like KuSwap or you can stake them on the official staking protocol for KCC or do other various and growing numbers of things. The cool thing is this will work in reverse too, so when you want to do something like taking profits to other chains without too much use of centralized entities, you can do so just as easily! <3 I hope this has helped, if you found this informative be sure to share it!
